# Schools, charities and other organisations

Schools, charities, associations and companies use PrintBlob for shirts where each person adds something of their own to a shared design: a leavers' shirt with every name, a charity run with each runner's name, staff shirts with a role. Each person's shirt is its own order item with its own preview and, with PrintBlob Pro, its own print file. The free plugin runs the whole designer on the front of a t-shirt.

## Who is this for?

Schools and parent associations, charities and fundraising events, sports associations, choirs, companies ordering staff shirts: groups that share one design and add each person's name or role, and that often pay or collect payment per person.

## What matters in PrintBlob?

- **The free designer.** Text typed on the shirt, the organisation's logo uploaded, every colour from one photo, and each order's design kept: enough for front-printed shirts with no licence.
- **One order item per person.** Each shirt reaches the order with its own preview, colour and size, so the list of names is the order itself.
- **A list of names (PrintBlob Pro).** An organiser can list everyone on one design with names and numbers: one item per size, each line printed in the font, colour and place you set, with its own print file.
- **Translations.** The designer in the members' language: language packs once volunteers have translated PrintBlob, or every language PrintBlob has with PrintBlob Pro.
- **The back (PrintBlob Pro).** The organisation on the front, names on the back.
- **Print files (PrintBlob Pro).** If a local printer prints the shirts, send them each order's ZIP.

## What are the limits?

With PrintBlob Pro, a design template can hold the organisation's logo already placed for members to start from; without it, a link can start the designer with a line of text and a colour, and members upload the logo themselves (send it with the link). PrintBlob does not lock parts of a design, so say on the product page what must stay, and check the previews before printing. There is no approval step where an organiser checks members' designs before they are paid, and no spreadsheet import. Payment per member works through WooCommerce as usual; invoices to the organisation are WooCommerce's or a plugin's.

## How do I try it?

Open the [text demo](/demos/#text) and type a name on the shirt, then install the free plugin and turn the designer on for one shirt.

## How does an organisation's order go through PrintBlob?

1. **Set up the shirt.** One product in the organisation's colours and sizes, with the designer on and a print price per side.
2. **Share the page.** Send members the product page or a designer page, with ?text= and ?color= in the link if everyone starts from the same line and colour.
3. **Each member adds their part.** Their name, their class or their role, typed on the shirt, and their size; then Add to cart and checkout.
4. **Collect the orders.** Each shirt is an order item with its preview, colour and size.
5. **Print them.** With PrintBlob Pro, from the print queue, each item's files in its order's ZIP with a print list.

## Try it in the live demo

**Text typed on the product.** The designer opens with a line of text already typed on the front. There is no text field: customers type on the shirt itself, and choose one of the four bundled fonts, bold and an ink colour.

## Set it up

- [Installation](https://printblob.com/docs/installation/): PrintBlob needs WordPress 7.0, WooCommerce 10.0 and PHP 7.4 or newer. Install the free plugin from the WordPress.org directory or as a zip, set up your first product, then add PrintBlob Pro when you need it.
- [Products](https://printblob.com/docs/products/): To sell a product with the designer, open the product's PrintBlob designer tab, turn the designer on, choose its mockup and set a print price for each printed side.
- [Translations](https://printblob.com/docs/translations/): With PrintBlob Pro, PrintBlob is in 43 languages, the designer customers use included; the free plugin gets its translations from translate.wordpress.org. Add another language with a .po editor or Loco Translate.
- [Team and group orders with names and numbers in WooCommerce](https://printblob.com/guides/team-orders-names-numbers-woocommerce/): How print shops take orders where every shirt shares one design but has its own name, number and size: the options WooCommerce gives you, how customers list every person on one design with PrintBlob Pro's names and numbers, how the free plugin takes them one at a time, and how to check each line's print file.
- [How to make a custom t-shirt website with WooCommerce](https://printblob.com/guides/sell-custom-t-shirts-woocommerce/): How to make a website where customers design their own t-shirts and you sell and print them, step by step in WooCommerce: products, colours and sizes, a product designer, pricing per printed side, and print files with every order.

## The features that matter here

- [The product designer, with text typed on the product](https://printblob.com/features/designer/) (Free): PrintBlob's designer for WooCommerce: customers place photos, logos and text on the product photo, type straight on the product, and add the design to the cart.
- [Every colour from one product photo](https://printblob.com/features/colours/) (Free): PrintBlob recolours one white product photo to every colour of your WooCommerce colour attribute, keeping folds and shading, and adds a Colours block.
- [Translations of the designer and the shop](https://printblob.com/features/translations/) (PrintBlob Pro): PrintBlob and PrintBlob Pro are translated, the designer included. The free plugin gets language packs from translate.wordpress.org; PrintBlob Pro carries every translation PrintBlob has.
- [Front, back and sleeve printing](https://printblob.com/features/back-and-sleeves/) (Free, with more in PrintBlob Pro): Print on the front with the free plugin; PrintBlob Pro adds the back and the left and right sleeves, each with its own photo, print area, print price and print file.
- [Print-ready PNG, PDF and SVG files and the print queue](https://printblob.com/features/print-files/) (Free, with more in PrintBlob Pro): Every WooCommerce order keeps its design. PrintBlob Pro makes each printed side's print files at the exact print size: a transparent 300 DPI PNG, a vector PDF and an SVG, and a CMYK PDF through your printer's profile if you want one. Its print queue gives each order's files in one ZIP.

## Questions

### Can the designer be in our language?

Yes, where PrintBlob is translated: through language packs from translate.wordpress.org, or at once with PrintBlob Pro, which carries every translation PrintBlob has.

### Can an organiser order for everyone?

Yes. With PrintBlob Pro's names and numbers, they list everyone on one design, a name, a number or both and a size on each line, and add the list to the cart at once. With the free plugin, it is one shirt per Add to cart with the name and size changed each time; large groups may need the save limits raised, which a developer does with a filter.
