Honest comparison: Lumise alternatives for WooCommerce
The alternatives to Lumise Product Designer for a WooCommerce shop are other self-hosted plugins, such as PrintBlob for garments, Fancy Product Designer and the free Custom Product Builder, which run in your shop with no fee per sale, and hosted services such as Zakeke, Customily and Kickflip, which do more for a monthly plan plus a fee on each sale.

What is Lumise, and why look for an alternative?
Lumise Product Designer, which lumise.com also calls Lumise Classic, is a product designer plugin for WordPress and WooCommerce sold on lumise.com and CodeCanyon, with no fee per sale stated on either. The reasons to look elsewhere that its own pages show are the WordPress and WooCommerce versions it names, a successor with no release date, and updates and support that run a year at a time unless you pay for lifetime.
| Lumise Product Designer | |
|---|---|
| What it is | “Product Designer for WooCommerce & WordPress”, a plugin in your own WordPress; its documentation also offers a PHP version |
| Who makes it | King-Theme (its CodeCanyon author); lumise.com gives an address in Hanoi |
| Price on lumise.com | $69 a year (shown reduced from $99): lifetime use of the version you buy, a year of updates and support, renewed yearly; or $380 once (shown reduced from $480): lifetime updates and support |
| Price on CodeCanyon | Regular License $99, Extended License $349; 6 months of support from King-Theme |
| Add-ons | Sold separately, among them a Printful integration, an add-ons bundle, the MONO editor and product masks; a Classic bundle of the plugin with three of them |
| Versions named | WordPress 6.9.x and WooCommerce 9.x (lumise.com); WordPress 4.9.x to 6.9.x and WooCommerce 5.x to 9.x (CodeCanyon) |
| Last update | 16 July 2026 on CodeCanyon; the changelog lists versions up to 2.1.2 without dates |
| What customers can do | Text effects, clipart, shapes, templates, QR codes, drawing, layer masks, cropping and filters, on several sides |
| Print files | Print-ready files at 300 DPI attached to the order; PNG or SVG from the editor; PDF export with bleed and crop marks in its changelog |

The reasons its own pages show
- The versions it names. lumise.com names WordPress 6.9.x and WooCommerce 9.x, and its CodeCanyon page lists nothing newer, while WordPress.org’s current releases on 21 October 2026 were WordPress 7.1.3 and WooCommerce 11.2.1. The pages do not say it fails on newer versions; they do not say it works on them either.
- A successor with no date. lumise.com announces Lumise Neo for WooCommerce as an upcoming release: pre-orders are closed and no release date is given. Neo needs WordPress 6.9+, WooCommerce 10.0+ and PHP 8.3+. Lumise Classic is still sold beside it.
- Updates and support by the year. On lumise.com the $69 price buys a year of updates and support, renewed yearly; the version you bought keeps working if you stop. Lifetime updates and support cost $380 once, and CodeCanyon’s licence includes 6 months of support.
- A changelog without dates. The changelog’s newest dated entry is version 1.7.6, on 1 October 2019; the versions after it, up to 2.1.2, carry no dates, so the CodeCanyon page is where the last update date shows.
- Not on WordPress.org. Lumise is bought and downloaded from lumise.com or CodeCanyon, so it is not found by the search in Plugins › Add Plugin.
Which alternatives are there?
| Option | Kind | Price as listed | Good for | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PrintBlob | Plugin, in your shop | Free; Pro $69 a year or $99 once (limited-time offer until 31 December 2026); no fee per sale | Shops that print garments: the front of a t-shirt in every colour you sell, free; your own products on your own photos and PNG, PDF and SVG print files in Pro | No QR codes, price per print method or print-on-demand; WooCommerce only |
| Fancy Product Designer | Plugin, in your shop | $99 per licence on its own site | PDF, SVG, JPG and PNG export; pricing by layer, element or view; a Shopify app | Its CodeCanyon edition is in maintenance-only status, with no new versions there and no support from its author |
| Custom Product Builder for WooCommerce | Plugin, in your shop | Free on WordPress.org, with a Pro version | Trying a free drag-and-drop designer | Customers’ image uploads, unlimited products and design files only in Pro |
| Zakeke | Hosted service | From $59 a month billed yearly, plus 1.5% to 1.9% of each customised product sold | 3D configurators, AR, templates, print-ready and engraving files, CMYK and Pantone from its Grow plan | 10, 50 or 100 products by plan; a fee on every customised product sold |
| Customily | Hosted service | $49 a month per platform, plus $1 to $0.10 per personalised item | Personalised gifts, unlimited products, many print-on-demand providers | 3D and file formats not stated on its pages; its plugin is emailed after you sign up, not listed on WordPress.org |
| Kickflip | Hosted service | $59 a month, plus up to 1.95% of custom product sales | A product customiser with unlimited products and storage | Templates not stated on its pages |
The Lumise and Zakeke prices were read on 21 October 2026, the others on 20 October 2026; prices are in US dollars and change, so read each page before you buy. Which self-hosted plugin replaces Lumise?
A plugin keeps what Lumise gives you: the designer runs in your own WordPress, designs and files stay on your server, and nothing is charged per order.
- PrintBlob is made for shops that print garments. It is free on WordPress.org and in active development: customers design the front of its bundled t-shirt in every colour you sell, and each order keeps its design. PrintBlob Pro adds your own products on your own photos, the back and the sleeves, a 3D view, custom fonts, design templates, a clipart library of your own art, a print queue, and per printed side a transparent PNG at 300 DPI, a vector PDF and an SVG at the print area’s exact size. It does not have Lumise’s QR codes or prices per print method.
- Fancy Product Designer covers more product types and exports PDF and SVG, but its CodeCanyon page says the CodeCanyon edition is in maintenance-only status. Its own site still sells a licence per website. See PrintBlob vs Fancy Product Designer.
- Custom Product Builder for WooCommerce is free on WordPress.org with a drag-and-drop designer and a live preview; uploads, unlimited products, advanced text and downloadable design files are in its Pro version.
When is a hosted service the better replacement?
When you need what no plugin above has: 3D configurators, AR or virtual try-on, Pantone colour, or one designer for WooCommerce and Shopify together. Zakeke, Customily and Kickflip run the designer on their own servers and connect to WooCommerce with a plugin; you pay a monthly plan and a fee on each sale, so the cost grows with your sales. Zakeke vs Customily and Zakeke vs Kickflip compare them.
When should you stay with Lumise?
If your customers rely on its shapes and QR codes beside templates and clipart, if you price by print method across DTG, screen, sublimation and embroidery, if you use its Printful add-on, or if you need its PHP version outside WordPress, Lumise does things the plugins above do not. Its own pages name the versions it supports, so ask Lumise about yours rather than replace a tool that does the job.
Where PrintBlob fits
PrintBlob is the alternative for a WooCommerce shop that prints garments itself or with a local printer and wants a designer listed on WordPress.org. The free plugin runs a real shop’s front-printed t-shirt orders; PrintBlob Pro, sold yearly or once (see PrintBlob’s pricing), adds your own products, more sides and the print files, with no fee per sale.
PrintBlob is not the right choice if you need QR codes, a price per print method, print-on-demand, paper products such as business cards, or a Shopify store. The alternatives page sets every option side by side.

How do I choose a replacement for Lumise?
- List what you use in Lumise. Go through a month of orders and note what customers and your team actually used: templates, clipart, QR codes, several sides, a price per print method, the Printful add-on or other add-ons.
- Check the versions your shop runs. Compare the WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP versions your shop runs with the versions each plugin's own page names, and ask its maker about any version it does not name.
- Name the file your printer needs. DTG and DTF printers work from a PNG at 300 DPI at the print size; screen printing, cutting and paper products usually need PDF or SVG. Rule out every tool that cannot hand you that file.
- Try the replacement on a copy of your shop. Install it on a staging copy, set up one product as you sell it today, place a test order, and compare the designer on a phone, the order screen and the print file with the same order in Lumise.
Set it up
- Installation
PrintBlob needs WordPress 7.0, WooCommerce 10.0 and PHP 7.4 or newer. Install the free plugin from the WordPress.org directory or as a zip, set up your first product, then add PrintBlob Pro when you need it.
- Products
To sell a product with the designer, open the product's PrintBlob designer tab, turn the designer on, choose its mockup and set a print price for each printed side.
- PrintBlob Pro
PrintBlob Pro adds print-ready files of every order (a 300 DPI PNG, a vector PDF and SVG, and a CMYK PDF through your printer's profile) with the customers' original images, your own products and photos, back and sleeve printing, a 3D view, design templates, a clipart library, quantity breaks, names and numbers for team orders, a print queue with ZIP downloads, and your own fonts.
- WooCommerce product designer plugins compared
Three ways to let customers design products in a WooCommerce shop: self-hosted designer plugins, hosted customizer services, and print-on-demand integrations. What each costs, where designs are processed, and what you get back.
- Print-ready t-shirt files: format, transparency and resolution
What makes a t-shirt print file ready to print: a transparent PNG at 300 DPI at the printed size, or a vector file where the method takes one. Why customer photos print blurry, why backgrounds print as boxes, and what DTG, DTF, screen printing, vinyl and embroidery each need from you.
