Translations of the designer and the shop

PrintBlob and PrintBlob Pro are translated into 43 languages, including the designer your customers use. The free plugin gets its translations from translate.wordpress.org as language packs once volunteers have approved them in a language. PrintBlob Pro carries PrintBlob's translations in every language it has, so a shop in one of them is translated as soon as Pro is active.

PrintBlob Pro

Published , updated , by the PrintBlob team.

Free or Pro?

  • Pro PrintBlob’s translations in every language it has, for a shop in a language WordPress.org has no PrintBlob language pack for yet.

What is translated?

Everything PrintBlob shows: the designer your customers use (its buttons, its messages, the price breakdown), the cart and order lines, the emails, and the admin screens. PrintBlob’s text domain is printblob and PrintBlob Pro’s printblob-pro, and both ship their templates for a translator to start from.

How do the translations reach a shop?

Two ways, and the Translations page lists the languages:

  • The free plugin is translated on translate.wordpress.org, as every plugin in the WordPress.org directory is. When volunteers have translated and approved PrintBlob in a language, WordPress installs it as a language pack and keeps it up to date. Until then it shows in English.
  • PrintBlob Pro carries its own translations and the free plugin’s, in every language PrintBlob has. WordPress uses Pro’s copy of the free plugin’s translation wherever it has no language pack of PrintBlob in your site’s language.

Who is it for?

Shops selling in a language other than English, where a designer half in English loses customers at the last step. With PrintBlob Pro the designer speaks the shop’s language from the first day.

What are the limits?

A shop in a language PrintBlob does not have yet shows in English until it is translated; the docs explain how to add a language with a .po editor. Products, colours and attribute names are your own WooCommerce content, translated as you translate the rest of your shop.

How does my shop get PrintBlob in its language?

  1. Set the site's language. Under Settings › General, choose the Site Language. PrintBlob follows it.
  2. With the free plugin, update translations. WordPress installs PrintBlob's language pack from translate.wordpress.org once one exists for that language, under Dashboard › Updates.
  3. With PrintBlob Pro, nothing to do. Pro carries PrintBlob's translations and uses them wherever WordPress has no language pack of PrintBlob in your site's language.
