Product options beyond colour and size

With PrintBlob Pro, every attribute other than colour and size that a product's variations use, such as material, fit or print method, becomes a choice in the designer. The variation the customer ends up with is WooCommerce's own, with its price, stock and SKU, and the choice shows in the cart, the order and the print queue.

Free or Pro?

  • Pro Product options beyond colour and size: every other attribute a product’s variations use, such as material or fit, chosen in the designer.

What does it do?

The free plugin shows a variable product’s colour and size in the designer: colour swatches and size buttons, with sold-out combinations unavailable. PrintBlob Pro adds every other attribute the product’s variations use. A shop selling the same shirt in two fabrics, two fits, or two print methods at two prices sets that up as WooCommerce variations, and the customer chooses it in the designer without leaving it.

Nothing about the variation is PrintBlob’s: its price, its stock and its SKU are WooCommerce’s, so stock management, reports and your other plugins see an ordinary variation.

Who is it for?

Shops that sell one design on more than one version of a product: organic and standard cotton, regular and oversized fit, DTF or embroidery as a print method. Anything that is a variation in WooCommerce.

What are the limits?

Options are attributes used for variations: an attribute that is only shown on the product page, not used for variations, is not a choice in the designer. There are no free-text options or file fields; a customer’s own artwork goes on the product with Upload image.

How do I add an option such as material?

  1. Make the attribute. Under Products › Attributes, add the attribute, for example Material, and its terms, such as Cotton and Organic cotton.
  2. Use it for variations. On the variable product, add the attribute and tick Used for variations, then make the variations with their prices and stock.
  3. Open the product. With PrintBlob Pro active, the designer shows the attribute as a choice beside colour and size.

Set it up

  • PrintBlob Pro

PrintBlob Pro adds print-ready files of every order (a 300 DPI PNG, a vector PDF and SVG, and a CMYK PDF through your printer's profile) with the customers' original images, your own products and photos, back and sleeve printing, a 3D view, design templates, a clipart library, quantity breaks, names and numbers for team orders, a print queue with ZIP downloads, and your own fonts.

  • Products

To sell a product with the designer, open the product's PrintBlob designer tab, turn the designer on, choose its mockup and set a print price for each printed side.

Questions

Can an option change the price?

Yes. Each variation has its own price in WooCommerce, and the designer shows the price of the variation chosen, with the print added.

Does the option reach the print queue?

Yes. The choice is part of the variation, so it shows on the cart, the order and the print queue's print list.
